After hundreds of hours with the G29, I finally upgraded to the Logitech PRO Racing Wheel, and the difference is night and day. In this video, I share my unboxing, initial impressions, and how it feels to actually drive with it across games like ACC, Dirt Rally 2.0, EA Sports WRC, F1, and more.
I spent days with Logitech PRO Racing Wheel, I can say this: it’s a huge step up from the G29.
Precision is the biggest upgrade: I feel more in control and more confident while driving. With this wheel, when I make a mistake, I know it’s because I didn’t know the track well enough or wasn’t paying enough attention, not because the wheel let me down.
I really enjoy the force feedback, especially TrueForce. It delivers nuanced sensations, whether it’s from the engine, road surface, or curbs.
For example:
* In Dirt Rally 2.0, I can feel the concrete joints between sections of the road.
* In ACC, the bumps and vibrations as I attack a corner are incredibly immersive.
* In F1, I love the grinding sensation when cutting over kerbs—it feels raw and satisfying.
No matter if I run the wheel in G923 mode or Pro mode, the feedback is excellent. But settings matter: each game needs its own tuning. A setup that works great in ACC might not feel right in WRC or SnowRunner. Logitech has a page with game-specific settings that I found helpful as a starting point.
I also got used to the new layout quite easily. The buttons are more accessible, and the analog levers below the shifters add useful flexibility. These can be used as a double clutch, but also as throttle and brake inputs, making the wheel more accessible for players with mobility challenges or even for lazy days after leg workouts.
Now, about the price: it’s expensive, no doubt. But I went with the PC-only version, which was about €150 cheaper than the console-compatible one. Since I race only on PC, it didn’t make sense to pay extra for platform licensing. Still, it's good to know: the Xbox chip is in the wheel and the PlayStation chip is in the base, so buying the PlayStation base and Xbox wheel is said to make the whole setup cross-platform compatible (though I haven’t tested this myself).
I cover everything from force feedback, true audio feel, compatibility modes (PRO vs G923), and even how much quieter and more precise this wheel is compared to the G29.
Whether you’re on the fence about upgrading or just curious how much better the experience is, I’ll walk you through my journey. From improved driving confidence to pedal feel, this wheel has genuinely changed how I enjoy sim racing.
I’ve also included tips for setup, how to fix common issues (like handbrake recognition), and why this combo might be the best accessible racing setup for sim racers at any level.
